Auto possibles check for numbers that exist in the same row, column and box. As you enter numbers into the puzzle those numbers will be removed from the possibles.
A first step is to set numbers where the pencil marks have only one value (which means that the cell can only contain one number).
The second step is to look for pencil numbers which only occur once in a row, column or box.
With Kakuro the auto possibles also take into account the possible values as dictated by the required total. For example if the total is 4 then this can only be obained by using 1,3 or 3,1 therefore only these two pencil numbers will be inserted.
